400 Renaissance Drive
Detroit, MI, 48243

Pedro Costa
General Manager of Continuous Improvement and Processes, TAP Maintenance & Engineering
Mr. Costa will present a case study on applying Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM) to C-checks at TAP Maintenance & Engineering. As a result of the implementation, the airline was able to improve fleet availability by reducing turnaround time for the heavy checks by 21%. They were also able to avoid the expense of subcontracting part of their fleet to outside vendors, while revealing capacity for additional 3rd party work to enable revenue generation for TAP Maintenance & Engineering Business Unit.
Dave Phillips and Nelly Offord
Telecom Payload Programmes, Airbus Defence and Space
Mr. Phillips and Mrs. Offord from Airbus Defence and Space will present the transition to using CCPM in customization, design, and assembly of satellite payloads. This change has allowed the Payload group to increase throughput over 20% in engineering phases. They'll discuss lessons learned in the implementation, including the challenge of applying CCPM in only one of three phases of the overall satellite build.
Brian Cole and Craig Karagitz
Project Management Office, Terumo Cardiovascular Group
Terumo Cardiovascular began their implementation of CCPM in 2008. Since that time they have realized significant results, but have also experienced the pressures of compromises that can diminish those gains. Mr. Cole and Mr. Karagitz will present a case study on the journey Terumo has taken over the past seven years through early results, compromises and sustainment challenges, using the principles of CCPM in the medical device industry.
