Execution Management Minute

Issue: July 17, 2007

Dear Readers,

Every other week we provide you one management tip based on our most successful implementations.

This issue of Execution Management Minute is about a key rule for managing multiple projects.

If you find this useful, please feel free to forward it to your colleagues.

The habits of managers who "Get Results"

  1. Translate decisions into actionable information: Decisions remain dreams unless someone acts on them. The "Get Results" manager translates decisions into clear action items and assigns them to appropriate people.
  2. Provide clear priorities: The "Get Results" manager understands that without clear priorities people multitask, the organization is not synchronized, and nothing gets done.
  3. Follow-up/follow through: The "Get Results" manager does not leave anything to chance and follows up in a disciplined manner. Following up not only conveys the sense of urgency, but also helps her/ him identify and quickly resolve execution issues.

And that's the Execution Management Minute for this week.
