Australia's Leading Appliance Manufacturer
Implementing Realization's Next Generation Project Management Software SILICON VALLEY - January 6, 2004 - Realization Technologies today announced that Breville, acknowledged in Australia for its innovative electric appliances, will implement Realization's next generation of project management software to manage its new product development. Started in 1932, Breville is now a part of Housewares International, an Australian listed company with sales of $500 million dollars. "Breville joins a fast growing list of organizations that are using Critical Chain to gain the competitive advantage in the race to get product to market," says David Hodes, Managing Director of the TOC Centre of Australia, which implemented the software and the associated business processes. "At any given time, there are over 175 projects
underway in Breville's product development organization. It is critical
that these innovations come to the market quickly and cost-effectively.
However, the uncertainties within product development projects make it
impossible to use critical path thinking." "As uncertainties strike, the critical path keeps shifting, wreaking havoc all around. Marketing, design, regulatory approval, manufacturing, packaging, sales and distribution functions get out of sync, delays propagate quickly, resources are not available when needed and people in execution are pulled in multiple directions. The effect of not having speed with reliability can be devastating in lost revenue as well as penalties applied by demanding retailers who have put their purchasing dollars and shelf space behind new product launches," Hodes explains. "It is tragic that organizations worldwide spend over $2 billion annually on earlier generations of project management software, yet most projects continue to be delivered late, under budget and under scope," adds Sanjeev Gupta, CEO of Realization. "This frustration is causing managers across the globe to dump outdated traditional project management software." About Realization Technologies, Inc. For more information, contact: Tom Brigham
