VIBGYOR
Schools Meets
Ambitious Goals

WITH SMART PROJECT DELIVERY

Client
VIBGYOR-logo_new

India-based VIBGYOR had contracts to build eight new schools in multiple cities, and to expand 39 others. VIBGYOR wanted to meet aggressive deadlines, manage the slate of work, and keep enrollment numbers steady or growing. It was a tall order for a small team.

MAJOR CHALLENGES

The deadlines were tight; the stakeholders were many. The company, the landowners, the in-house construction firm, the outside architects. In June, when planning began, construction had started in only a few locations. Design work had barely begun. Monsoon season was coming. Yet VIBGYOR found a way to reach their goal.

1
Thin Management Capacity

Educational systems are known for lean project management staff with limited experience.

2
Stringent Deadlines

Eight new school projects on top of so much expansion work could impact new admissions.

3
Multiple Stakeholders

VIBGYOR, landowners, an in-house construction firm, outside architects–some with conflicting priorities.

4
Multiple Worksites

Different cities brought logistical issues, including teams working at cross purposes.

5
Lack of Project Visibility

Teams couldn't see where bottlenecks were forming and didn't have a true picture of reality.

“For us, missing our delivery milestone translates to a one-year delay. This year was big: open six schools against the usual two to three. Acting on SMART Project Delivery’s SMART scheduling, and forward-looking alerts, we are about to deliver all six projects on time. An even bigger expansion plan is slated for next year.”
